Naomi
Terra Verde
Introducing Naomi! A super sweet ten-year-old, spayed female, Naomi was relinquished to rescue with a history of no observed urination for 24 hours. Naomi was taken immediately to Blue Pearl ED in Clearwater. Naomi was clinically stable with normal vital signs and no significant abnormalities indicating an acute urinary emergency; labs were normal; her abdomen was soft and non-painful, and the bladder was very small on palpation and ultrasound. ❤
These findings confirmed that Naomi was not obstructed at this time. A urine sample could not be obtained because the bladder was too small and she did not urinate while at the hospital. Naomi was discharged home for follow-up with a primary veterinarian; ED staff recommended monitoring her closely for urine production, which she did when she arrived at her foster family’s home that night.
Naomi was examined by Dr. Kristi Olson at Island Life Animal Hospital. Naomi weighs 22.4 pounds and needs to lose 2-3 pounds. She has missing teeth and the teeth she has need a dental cleaning. Her ears were red, inflamed and ear cytology showed yeast; she is being treated with a long term ear medicine (Mometamax Single). Naomi also has been having accidents in the house and voiding frequently; she has an UTI and is on antibiotics. Heartworm test and stool test results are pending. Blood for titers for Distemper and Parvo was drawn and she will also need a rabies vaccination. Awe, feel better beautiful Naomi! ❤
This beauty is not available for adoption yet while we get her settled in and help her get healthy. Visit her fan page for more pics. Let's send her a lot of healing well wishes. xo
